Our commitment
Our target for the LookFlex website and iPhone app is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We design for accessibility from the start and fix barriers when we find them.
Conformance status
LookFlex is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: some parts do not yet fully meet the standard, as listed below. This statement is based on our own testing with keyboards, screen readers, zoom and reduced-motion settings. We have not yet had an independent audit.
What we have built in
- Semantic page structure with landmarks, one main heading per page and a skip-to-content link.
- Full keyboard use with visible focus indicators, and focus kept inside open dialogs and sheets.
- Labels for buttons, icons and form controls for screen readers.
- Text and controls designed for at least AA colour contrast, in both light and dark appearance.
- Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels in the app.
- Animations that turn off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages that reflow on small screens and support browser zoom.
- Scores and measurements given as text, not only as charts or colours.
Known limitations
- Camera capture: the live camera guide relies mainly on visual framing. Uploading an existing photo is a fully accessible alternative.
- Face overlays and charts: overlays drawn on your photo and some charts are visual. The values they show are available as text nearby, but the overlays themselves are not described in detail.
- Lab images: AI-generated images have a short text label, not a detailed description.
- Coach replies: replies appear as they are written, which some screen readers may announce in parts.
We are working on these. If one of them stops you using LookFlex, please tell us and we will help.
Third-party content
Downloads and purchases take place in Apple's App Store, and their accessibility is Apple's responsibility, though we will help you if you have trouble.
Feedback and help
If you find a barrier, need content in another format, or have a suggestion, email [email protected] with “Accessibility” in the subject. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device, software version and assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within five business days.
If you are not satisfied
If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the body responsible for accessibility complaints where you live, such as the national enforcement body under the European Accessibility Act in an EU country.
