Accuracy and method

How accurate are the measurements?

Every number comes with a 95% measurement margin. LookFlex measures your photo three times and reports how far a retake in similar conditions would usually land: on our reference portraits the median Glow Score margin was about ±3 points. It also rates each capture and asks for a retake when light or angle would skew the result. What the numbers are compared with is a separate question: the reference ranges are our own calibration on a limited set of faces, and we are still checking them, and the margins, on a wider range of real photos. Treat a score as a yardstick for tracking change, not as a verdict on your face. The method is explained on How it works, and the studies behind our claims are on the research page.

What does LookFlex measure?

Sixteen facial proportions (eyes, proportions, jaw and chin, cheekbones, nose and lips), left-right symmetry by region, six skin zones with six skin readings, and a match percentage for each of seven face shapes. These roll up into six sub-scores and a Glow Score, each with a margin, plus Potential, our model's score in one defined habits scenario. See every measurement and every face shape.

Why do my results change between scans?

Light, camera angle, distance, expression and head tilt all move the numbers a little. Every reading carries a margin, and LookFlex counts a change as real only when it is bigger than both scans' margins combined. Each scan also records its light, angle, distance and expression, and LookFlex tells you when two scans are too different to compare. For a fair comparison, scan in the same even, front-facing light with a neutral expression and the camera at eye level.

Is the skin read fair across skin tones?

It is designed to be. Each skin signal is compared with your own baseline across zones of your face rather than with an absolute brightness, and skin tone itself is never treated as a concern. We have not yet validated it across a large set of real-world photos, so good, even light matters, and an odd-looking read is a reason to rescan or to tell us.

Does LookFlex rate how attractive I am?

No. Scores describe measured proportions and skin readings against reference ranges. They are not a rating of attractiveness or worth, and they do not predict how other people see you. LookFlex never uses demeaning labels and never infers ethnicity.

Can I really change my score?

Parts of it, yes, though how much depends on the part. Daily sunscreen has strong trial evidence for slowing skin ageing, and sleep loss visibly changes how healthy and tired a face looks. Grooming and hair are style choices, not research findings. We found no reliable evidence that habits change adult bone structure, so LookFlex will not suggest otherwise, and it avoids extreme or unsafe tactics. Potential shows our model's score if your skin and under-eye readings reached a defined level: a what-if, not a forecast. Where something needs a professional, LookFlex says so. The sources are on the research page.

Privacy and data

Where do my photos go?

Landmark detection, measurements and the skin read run on your device, and your photos are saved in your device's own storage, never on our servers. When the AI read is available, one resized copy of the photo (longest side 1,024 pixels) is sent to our server for that single request and on to our AI provider to judge things geometry cannot, such as skin conditions and grooming. We do not store it or use it to train models. Lab previews work the same way and only run when you ask for one. If you sign in and keep backup on, your results are saved to our servers as numbers only: backup never includes photos or face landmarks. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is a face scan biometric data?

It can be. Face geometry counts as biometric data under some laws, such as Illinois BIPA and the EU GDPR. LookFlex measures your face to analyse it, not to identify you: there is no face matching, and signing in never uses your face. Face landmarks and photos are not stored on our servers. Measurements from your scans are stored there only if you keep backup on. Our biometric data notice explains what is processed, where, for how long and how to delete it.

Do I need an account?

No. You can scan, follow your plan and buy Pro without signing in. Each installation gets an anonymous account id on our server, with no personal details, so that limits and purchases work. Signing in with Apple or an email code is optional: it lets you use your account on another iPhone and, with backup on, brings your results and progress with you. Pro belongs to your Apple Account, and Restore Purchases brings it back on a new iPhone.

What does backup save?

Backup is optional. It is offered when you sign in, and you can turn it off in Profile, which deletes the backup. A backup is also deleted when the account has not been used for 35 months. While it is on, our server keeps a copy of your profile answers, plan, journey and progress, settings and scan results (scores and measurements). It never keeps photos, thumbnails or face landmarks: the server rejects them, so a scan restored on another iPhone shows its numbers without the photo. Coach chat and Lab images are not backed up. The Privacy Policy has the full list.

How do I delete my data?

Open Profile and choose Delete account. It deletes your account on our server with the data linked to it, including any backup, revokes the Sign in with Apple token, and erases your scans, photos, plan, progress and chat from your iPhone. You can export a copy first: the export covers your device and what our server holds, and has no photos. Signing out is different: it keeps the data on your iPhone. Turning backup off deletes only the backup. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel that in your iPhone's Settings. Apple keeps its own purchase records. For anything else, contact us.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. We make money from subscriptions and Lab credit packs only. There are no ads, and we do not sell your data.

Pricing and billing

What is free and what is Pro?

Your first scan is free, then 1 scan a week. Free includes the results overview with Glow Score, Potential and the symmetry and skin scores, the morning and evening routines, 3 coach messages a day, and one free Lab credit when you sign in. Pro unlocks the full seven-page analysis, every routine, up to 5 scans and 100 coach messages a day, and 20 Lab credits a month. There is no separate free trial: the free plan is the trial. See the full comparison.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is $4.99 a week, $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year, which works out at $0.77 a week on the yearly plan. Prices are in US dollars. In other countries the App Store shows your local price before you confirm. See the plans.

How do I cancel?

Pro renews until you cancel, and it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose LookFlex Pro. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app or your LookFlex account does not cancel a subscription. Full terms are in Subscriptions and refunds.

Can I get a refund?

App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, and your rights depend on where you live; some places give you a statutory cooling-off period. Our Subscriptions and refunds page explains how to ask. If a charge looks wrong, contact support and we will help.

What are Lab credits?

Each Lab preview uses one credit. You get one free credit the first time you sign in. Pro tops your balance up to 20 every 30 days, and you can buy 30 more for $6.99 as a one-time purchase, with or without Pro. Credits are held in your LookFlex account on our server, so sign in if you want them on another iPhone.

Devices and access

Which devices does LookFlex work on?

LookFlex is made for iPhone. It is available on the App Store. Use the camera or choose a photo from your library.

How do I get LookFlex?

Download LookFlex from the App Store on your iPhone. You do not need to sign in: answer a few questions, take one photo and your first scan is free.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Partly. The scan, measurements and skin read run on your iPhone. The AI read, the coach and Lab need a connection to reach their servers, and so do purchases, signing in and backup.

AI, safety and age

What does the AI do?

AI is used in three places. The AI read looks at your photo with your measurements to judge what geometry cannot, such as skin conditions, jaw softness and grooming, and writes your summary. The coach answers questions using your scan results. Lab generates image previews. Your measured geometry is treated as ground truth, so the AI can only nudge sub-scores within set limits, and gains, Potential and timeframes always come from LookFlex's own formula and cited studies. If AI is not available, the scan falls back to a rule-based analysis while the coach and Lab pause. AI can be wrong, and Lab images are AI illustrations, not predictions. More in Features.

Is this medical advice?

No. LookFlex is a wellness and self-improvement tool. It does not diagnose or treat anything. For persistent, painful or changing skin problems, or any health concern, see a dermatologist or doctor. Read the medical disclaimer.

What advice will LookFlex never give?

It will not suggest bone smashing, mewing or jaw exercises to reshape bone, steroids, SARMs, peptides, DIY fillers or injections, crash diets or extreme fasting, and it never promises results. It sticks to habits we can cite or plainly label as guidance: daily SPF, gentle skincare, sleep, enough protein, training, posture, grooming and hair.

Who can use LookFlex?

LookFlex is for people 16 and over. If you enter an age under 16, onboarding stops and none of your answers are saved. At 16 and 17 the guidance sticks to healthy habits, with no cosmetic procedures and no diet or weight-loss advice.
